mymizu at Nissan Stadium: Tackling Plastic Waste in Sports!
As part of the HEROs PLEDGE initiative—aimed at eliminating single-use plastic from the world of sport—we were proud to install a mymizu refill station at Nissan Stadium, home of the legendary Yokohama F. Marinos!
Despite rainy weather, the event was filled with energy and purpose. Thanks to our strategic partner, OSG Corporation, we set up a dedicated water booth where people of all ages, from children to seniors, gathered before kick-off.
Many came equipped with their own reusable bottles and happily lined up to refill them, proving that sustainability and sports can go hand in hand.
Instead of relying on the mymizu app, we introduced a handmade “Water Refill Counter”, where each refill was manually recorded by participants themselves. This simple act sparked excitement and pride, turning refills into a fun, interactive experience that encouraged mindful habits.
💡 Small actions = big impact. Refilling a bottle may seem small, but it’s a powerful step toward cutting down plastic waste. Through this initiative, we wanted to show just how meaningful everyday choices can be—and to inspire more of them.
One of the highlights of the day was the Plastic Treasure Hunt—a hands-on activity where participants sifted through white sand to find and sort pieces of real plastic waste. Both kids and adults took part, many for the first time, discovering the hidden realities of "invisible" plastic pollution in a playful yet powerful way.
🧴 While plastic waste on beaches has sadly become a common sight in Japan, this event offered a hopeful glimpse into a cleaner future. By turning awareness into action, we’re taking an important first step toward transforming how we engage with the environment, starting from our sports stadiums.
A huge thank you to Yokohama F. Marinos, HEROs PLEDGE, and everyone who joined us on the day. Together, we’re showing that small, collective actions can lead to big change. Let’s keep the momentum going - one refill at a time. 🌏💙
