Drive Social Impact

Job Description

We’re looking for a freelance Graphic Designer that could work with us in the following capacity:

  1. Work with project leads to confirm design requirements, create drafts, amend and then develop final designs for materials such as:

    • Posters, information packs, flyers etc (both print and digital)

    • Digital marketing materials and/or templates (e.g. banners, website graphics, social media posts, etc)

    • Presentation materials (e.g. google slides)

  2. Work in iterations that take the feedback from the team and users into account

  3. Demonstrate an understanding of mymizu’s brand and able to convey it through work to produce effective communications materials that evoke the mymizu brand values (though there is scope to improve and better define our visual identity and guidelines!) 

  4. Work with a wide range of media and graphic design software

  5. Other projects needing the support of a graphic designer, as needed (upon consultation)

Who are we looking for?

Required skills & experience

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator)

  • Minimum of two years experience in graphic design

  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and web

  • Experience with a wide range of creative projects

  • Experience with both print and digital media

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Attention to detail


Language Requirements

The ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English and/or Japanese, and read both languages sufficiently well enough to produce high-quality materials in both languages.

You also have

  • Passion for mymizu’s mission and having a positive social and environmental impact through your work.

More about the role

Expected workload: 5-30 hours a month but to be decided in consultation with the candidate. Please indicate your availability in the application form!

Location

  • Anywhere (although since our team is mostly Japan-based ideally has overlap with Japan time zones)

    *This position will be remote, though with opportunities to meet with the team in Kanto area Japan if desired.

Type of Employment

  • Freelance

  • This role is mainly remote, with some in-person engagements when possible  (most of our team is based in Kanto, but applicants are welcome from anywhere in Japan)

  • Contract type: project-based and/or ongoing freelance contract

Start date: As soon as possible
