Join us on 18 October, 2025 for a gathering of motivated students who are leading, or eager to lead, sustainability initiatives on their campuses. Together, we’ll explore how to accelerate the sustainability transformation of schools and universities across Japan. This event is co-hosted by UTokyo GX Student Network, mymizu (Social Innovation Japan), and Ichigo Bloom.
This year’s theme, “Climate Change and Plastic Waste,” will be explored through two interactive workshops: Climate Fresk and Plastic Collage. Participants can choose one workshop, though there will be opportunities for discussion between the workshops.
Climate Fresk
Dive into the science of climate change through an engaging, game-based workshop facilitated by trained student leaders. Using 42 science-based cards, participants collaboratively map out the causes and consequences of climate change. With over 2 million participants across 157 countries, Climate Fresk is more than a workshop: it’s a global movement for climate action.
Plastic Collage
Modeled on the Climate Fresk methodology, this workshop unpacks the full lifecycle of plastics - its production, use, environmental consequences, and possible solutions. Through teamwork and interactive cards, participants gain a systemic understanding of plastic pollution and explore pathways for change. This will also mark the first-ever Plastic Collage in Japanese!
