From Refilling to Renewable Energy: How mymizu and Hachidori Denryoku Are Expanding Everyday Climate Action

Global challenges such as the climate crisis and plastic pollution can feel overwhelming, and many people are left wondering what meaningful action they can take in everyday life. That is why, at mymizu, we have focused on making sustainability simple and accessible through one small but powerful choice: refilling your bottle.
Choosing to refill instead of buying a plastic bottle is a simple action. But over time, those small choices add up. Together with our community, mymizu has been helping grow a culture less dependent on single-use plastic, while building a nationwide refill network that is becoming part of everyday life in Japan.
Now, we’re excited to take this one step further through a new partnership with Hachidori Denryoku.
Hachidori Denryoku provides 100% renewable energy, helping customers to drastically reduce their CO₂ emissions. Their “1% for Social” initiative also donates 1% of electricity bills to organisations working on social and environmental issues - like mymizu!
