2 New Local Governments Join mymizu Local Government Alliance
We are excited to welcome Okayama Prefecture and Imizu City (Toyama Prefecture) as the newest members of the mymizu Local Government Alliance.
Together with local governments across Japan, the Alliance works to make free water refill a normal part of everyday life while supporting more sustainable and resilient communities.
Okayama Prefecture
Okayama Prefecture has been actively promoting the use of reusable bottles through its My Bottle Movement, encouraging residents to reduce single-use plastic waste by carrying and refilling their own bottles.
We are delighted to work together to create a future where refilling is accessible and commonplace.

Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture
Known as the "city where water springs forth," Imizu City has a long history closely connected with water. The city's name is said to originate from the abundant rivers, groundwater, and natural springs that have sustained the region for centuries.
Today, as part of its Zero Carbon City Imizu initiative, the city has installed "Ii Mizu Imizu" water refill stations at public facilities, including City Hall, Cross Bay Shinminato, and every elementary and junior high school in the city. Anyone carrying a reusable bottle can refill free of charge.
We are thrilled to partner with Imizu City to continue expanding refill culture throughout Japan.
